Here are some very big and very old trees they are about 150 years old!
They are the Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris) and the beach pine (Pinus contorta subsp. murrayana), characterized by a pointy edged pine cone. These trees aren't originally from this area: Carlo Siemoni had them planted here.

Can you tell the difference between a pine tree and a fir tree?
  • pine trees trees have needles that are grouped in bunches of 2 to 6
  • fir trees have single and flatter leaves.

  • The vegetation that isn't indigenous tends to disappear and give way to the vegetation that environment. We can in fact see that the silver firs, the black alders and the willow trees are reconquering their territory.
